My life and career don’t always go as I have planned or dreamed. Often they take me in other directions – not always good, but not always bad. I recently started Latin dancing and am now following my newfound passion by going on a cultural exchange program to Cuba where I will learn about the roots of salsa. My life and career aspirations were changed completely when I decided to move from Chile to Australia to complete further studies at university and achieve some of my personal goals. Suddenly I was in a completely different environment where everything appeared to be harder and more complicated.

Then I was introduced to Elwin. Elwin’s guidance was crucial for me in the process of adapting to these challenges and to redraw my career path. Over many weekly meetings we discovered so many new things about my personality in particular my strengths and weaknesses.

Elwin helped me to clarify these and decide which areas to focus on for the development of my career prospects.

When I was approximately 15 years young I told my careers councillor that I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. I knew what my passions were yet she didn’t even begin to ask the right questions. She pointed me in the direction of office work and finance yet I hated maths. I felt pressured from parents and school to do what they wanted me to do.
